At LUMC, we are diving into scripture in an entirely new way with "The Story." "The Story" is a special approach to scripture that presents the Bible to us, not in chapter and verse form, but as a narrative. During the service each Sunday, we'll spend time exploring different portions of "The Story," from God's creation narrative, all the way to God's promise of a new creation. Be sure to pick up your copy of the book, and join us as we see how our story connects to God's story.
Every Sunday morning, beginning at 10am, we have our weekly worship service in our sanctuary. During this service, we sing and hear music, read scripture lessons, have a sermon, share community prayers, and much more. We like to describe our services as being relaxed and comfortable while maintaining some important worship traditions. Everyone is welcome in the service, especially children of all ages (even crying is welcome – that’s a child’s prayer, too). We promise that you will not be made to introduce yourself to the church or embarrass you in any way. We hope that you’ll come and enjoy a worship service with us.

Back to School, Back to Fun, Back to Church!
As we prepare to say goodbye to a great summer break from school, we look forward to a great year with so much happening! Here at Laingsburg United Methodist Church, we wanted to let you know about some of the great things we have in store for children, families, and EVERYONE! We hope that you’ll consider making Laingsburg UMC your church home. We’d be so happy to have you come and be a part of the amazing things that are happening.
Children’s Sunday School
Every Sunday morning, from 9:00-9:45am, children ages four through the 5th grade are invited to join us for Sunday School. Each week, the children will learn a new lesson about the Bible, their faith, and the love of God. Our curriculum takes into account a number of learning styles, and focuses on having fun while learning and making friends.
Adult Sunday School
We actually have two adult Sunday school classes each week, both of which are designed for adults of all ages. We hope that you’ll stop in and try one or both of these classes (no cost) to see which one feeds your soul.
The first class (Sundays from 9:00-9:45am): This class, led by a member of our congregation, meets during the same time as our children’s Sunday school class in order that parents of participating children will have a class to attend, as well. All participants in this class will be using a curriculum called “Converge Bible Study.” These Bible studies are engaging, fulfilling, and even interactive.
The second class (11:45am-12:30pm): This class, led by Pastor Brian, meets shortly after the worship service, leaving enough time for you to grab a cup of coffee and other treats from our fellowship time. Participants in this class will be using a curriculum called “Believe” which will help to clarify and understand the various beliefs of the Christian faith.
