Many of our members and attendees are adults - some older and some younger. Our goal is to provide ministries, programs, and activities for everyone.
Monday Morning Bible Study
Every Monday morning at 9:30am, a small group of adults gather for am hour-long Bible study. We take a look at a variety of scriptures, seek to learn more about what we read, share our thoughts with one another, and work to apply those lessons to our own lives. All are welcome.
Don't think you know enough about the Bible? That's okay. We're all learning together.
Bibles are always availble if you need one.

Small Group Ministries
Our Small Group ministries here at Laingsburg United Methodist Church are designed to help our members grow in their faith and spirituality. Gathering together in small groups is a practice that goes back all the way to the first Christians nearly 2000 years ago. Together, our small groups pray, discuss their faith and hopes, and enjoy their time and interests together. If you are interested in learning about any of the following small groups, please contact the church office to be connected with their various coordinators.
Each Sunday, at aproximately 9:40, a group of church members gather in the church's library to share in a short time of prayer. Everyone is welcome to add to the prayers any joy or concern they have. This is a no-pressure group who is there simply to life one another and the church in prayer. All are welcome to come.
United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women is a local group of women who are passionate about Christian mission and service. They meet at the church on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10am and welcome any other women who might like to come and join them.
The UMW's Purpose Statement:
United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
For more information about the UMW, see their organizational website:
The quilting group here at Laingsburg UMC is sponsored by the United Methodist Women and invites all who have a passion and/or interest in quilting to come and participate in making quilts for ministry, mission, and the joy of the art. The quilters meet in the church's Fellowship Hall on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 10:00am.
The Men's Breakfast is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 8:30am. Men of all ages gather in the fellowship hall for prayer, conversation, and a hearty breakfast. A donation is welcome to help offset costs, but if it's your first time, please let it be our treat. The Men's Breakfast group also sponsors our Springtime Rummage Sale with all profits going toward a church mission.
Words of Faith
Words of faith is a small group of adults (all ages) who enjoy reading. Like a book club, we choose one book to read each month and then gather for lunch at the church on a given day to discuss the book, how it relates to our faith, and how we might learn from it.
Past books have included:
-Life of Pi
-Searching for Sunday
Finger Foods & Flicks
Couples and individuals who are a part of "Finger Foods & Flicks" enjoy both movies and food. Watching movies as a group at varoius homes and in theaters, particpants explore how the movie plots and themes relate to their lives and faith. This group meets as new movies are released and/or an interesting movie makes the Netflix list.
Entertainment Small Group
The entertainment group gathers from time to time to attend concerts, plays, movies, etc. As they do, they enjoy their time together, particpate in a devotional conversation, and of course prayer.
The Breakfast Club is a small group of Christians who gather on occasional Saturdays at varous local restaurants for a hearty breakfast, conversation, and prayer.
Color My World
As the trend of advanced coloring books has taken the world by storm, so has the "Color My World" small group. Meeting regularly at a local restaurant or public area, the participants take time to color, share their art, fellowship, and hold one another in prayer.
Coming up with the name themselves, this small group of seniors and self-proclaimed "old timers" get together for meals, conversation, devotion, and prayer. Sharing many common experiences together, this small group is certainly open to new members and other "old timers."
