Why Are We Doing Ministry at the Bar?

Well, there's a long answer and a short answer. The short answer is, "Why not?" The longer answer is this: we believe (strange as it may seem) that church doesn't and can't happen just within the confines of the church building. In fact, in the Bible, Jesus tells us to "go out." And so, we leave the church building and hang out at the bar, doing ministry there, too!

Jesus spent much of his ministry around tables in ordinary places, sharing meals with people from every walk of life. Tuesdays at Twilliger's grows out of that same spirit: meeting neighbors where they already are, without pressure and without an agenda.

So, What's the Catch?

There isn't one. Pastor Kendi will simply be available to speak with you, listen to you, pray with you, and share with you, all while you enjoy a cup of coffee, pop, or even breakfast. There is no question that can't be asked and no need too strange. You don't need to be a member of our church, or of any church, to stop by.

Where Will I Find Pastor Kendi?

You'll find Pastor Kendi sitting at a table at Twilliger's Tavern, near the front entrance. Just look for the table with the church sign. You can learn more about our pastor on the Staff page.

What If Someone Else Is Already There?

Just stop by the table and say hi. Let Pastor Kendi know that you'd like to talk. You may need to wait just a minute, but it shouldn't be long. In some cases, you're welcome to sit and join the conversation if it isn't private. Either way, she'll make sure to see you.
